shall a man leave father and mother, and shall
cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be
one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain,
but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined
together, let not man put asunder. Matthew

But to the
rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother
hath a wife that believeth not, and she be
pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her
away. And the woman which hath an husband that
believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell
with her, let her not leave him. For the
unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife,
and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the
husband: else were your children unclean; but
now are they holy. But if the unbelieving
depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister
is not under bondage in such cases: but God
hath called us to peace. For what knowest
thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy
husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether
thou shalt save thy wife? 1st Corinthians
7:12-16
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own
husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is
the head of the wife, even as Christ is the
head of the church: and he is the saviour of
the body. Therefore as the church is subject
unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own
husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your
wives, even as Christ also loved the church,
and gave himself for it; That he might
sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of
water by the word, That he might present it to
himself a glorious church, not having spot, or
wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should
be holy and without blemish. So ought men to
love their wives as their own bodies. He that
loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but
nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord
the church: For we are members of his body, of
his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause
shall a man leave his father and mother, and
shall be joined unto his wife, and they two
shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery:
but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Nevertheless let every one of you in
particular so love his wife even as himself;
and the wife see that she reverence her
husband. Ephesians 5:22-33
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own

love your wives, and be not bitter against
them. Children, obey your parents in all
things: for this is well pleasing unto the
Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to
anger, lest they be discouraged. Servants,
obey in all things your masters according to
the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers;
but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
Colossians 3:18-22
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them
according to knowledge, giving honour unto the
wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being
heirs together of the grace of life; that your
prayers be not hindered. 1st Peter 3:7
