meek also shall increase their joy in the
LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in
the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 29:19
Although the
fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall
fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive
shall fail, and the fields shall yield no
meat; the flock shall be cut off from the
fold, and there shall be no herd in the
stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will
joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God
is my strength, and he will make my feet like
hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon
mine high places. To the chief singer on my
stringed instruments. Habakkuk 3:17-19

the Almighty: Job 5:17
Blessed is
the man that walketh not in the counsel of the
ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But
his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in
his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalms

trembling. Psalms 2:11

the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely
for the upright. Praise the LORD with harp:

remembered his mercy and his truth toward the
house of Israel: all the ends of the earth

make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing
praise. Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with
the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With

New
Testament
Blessed are ye, when men shall
revile you, and persecute you, and shall say
all manner of evil against you falsely, for my
sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for
great is your reward in heaven: for so
persecuted they the prophets which were before
you. Matthew 5:11-12

rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto
you; but rather rejoice, because your names
are written in heaven. Luke 10:20

such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
For this cause we also, since
the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for
you, and to desire that ye might be filled
with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom
and spiritual understanding; That ye might
walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing,
being fruitful in every good work, and
increasing in the knowledge of God;
Strengthened with all might, according to his
glorious power, unto all patience and
longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks
unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be
partakers of the inheritance of the saints in
light: Colossians 1:9-12
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall
into divers temptations; Knowing this, that
the trying of your faith worketh patience. But

may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 1
