Wisdom
strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty
men which are in the city. For there is not a
just man upon earth, that doeth good, and
sinneth not. Also take no heed unto all words
that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant
curse thee: For oftentimes also thine own
heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast
cursed others. All this have I proved by
wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far
from me. Ecclesiastes 7:19-23
A violent
man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him
into the way that is not good. Proverbs 16:29
He that is slow to anger is better than the
mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he
that taketh a city. Proverbs 16:32
Keep thy
tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking
guile. Psalms 34:14
They that
hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the
dwelling place of the wicked shall come to
nought. Job 8:22
New
Testament
But I
say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his
brother without a cause shall be in danger of
the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his
brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the
council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool,
shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:22
Love your enemies, bless them that curse you,
do good to them that hate you, and pray for
them which despitefully use you, and persecute
you. Matthew 5:44
But I say
unto you, That every idle word that men shall
speak, they shall give account thereof in the
day of judgment. Matthew 12:36
Not that
which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but
that which cometh out of the mouth, this
defileth a man. Matthew 15:11
Dearly
beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather
give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the
Lord. Romans 12:19
For ye are
all the children of God by faith in Christ
Jesus. For as many of you as have been
baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There
is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither
bond nor free, there is neither male nor
female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's
seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:26-29
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which
are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,
variance, emulations, wrath, strife,
seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders,
drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the
which I tell you before, as I have also told
you in time past, that they which do such
things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith, Meekness, temperance: against such
there is no law. Galatians 5:19-23
Be ye angry,
and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your
wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
Ephesians 4:26-27
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of
your mouth, but that which is good to the use
of edifying, that it may minister grace unto
the hearers. Ephesians 4:29
Let all
bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour,
and evil speaking, be put away from you, with
all malice: And be ye kind one to another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as
God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:31-32
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or
covetousness, let it not be once named among
you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness,
nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are
not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Ephesians 5:3-4
But now ye also put off all these; anger,
wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication
out of your mouth. Lie not one to another,
seeing that ye have put off the old man with
his deeds; Colossians 3:8-9
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew,
circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian,
Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all,
and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of
God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies,
kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness,
longsuffering; Colossians 3:11-12
Let your speech be alway with grace,
seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye
ought to answer every man. Colossians 4:6
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to
thy trust, avoiding profane and vain
babblings, and oppositions of science falsely
so called. 1st Timothy 6:20
Put them in mind to be subject to
principalities and powers, to obey
magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers,
but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish,
disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts
and pleasures, living in malice and envy,
hateful, and hating one another. Titus 3:1-3
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of
good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness,
gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot
be condemned; that he that is of the contrary
part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to
say of you. Titus 2:7-8
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every
man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to
wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the
righteousness of God. James 1:19-20
Even so the tongue is a little member, and
boasteth great things. Behold, how great a
matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue
is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the
tongue among our members, that it defileth the
whole body, and setteth on fire the course of
nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For
every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of
serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed,
and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue
can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of
deadly poison. James 3:5-8
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and
therewith curse we men, which are made after
the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth
proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren,
these things ought not so to be. James 3:9-10
Seeing then that all these things shall be
dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to
be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the
day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire
shall be dissolved, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat? 2 Peter 3:11-12
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer:
and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life
abiding in him. 1 John 3:15
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his
brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not
his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love
God whom he hath not seen? And this
commandment have we from him, That he who
loveth God love his brother also. 1 John
4:20-21
